Christ the Redeemer

- Visitors can take a train from street level up to the ticket area about halfway to the top.
- We chose the second option, a van. It all but guarantees extra time at the top, after the last call for train passengers is given.
- Along the way, our driver stopped at an adjacent mountain, giving us a different view of the city…
- …and of Jesus Himself, and an option to take a helicopter tour. It was a bit sunny, in case you couldn’t tell. I don’t normally look like that.
- The first good view you get is of the Lagoa, and Copacabana beach in the distance.
- And then there’s this guy right here.
- The statue has been restored several times over the years. And is taller in person.
- Sorry.
- Everyone was doing it…
- In an effort to get the full statue in a picture, sometimes one must throw oneself on the floor.
- I can see my house from here! (Not really)
- Buildings and mountains everywhere.
- Pão de Açúcar!
- I really do love the view from up there.
- The view from behind the statue. The fog was coming from the Atlantic Ocean.
- At least Leo takes normal pictures.
- Lights are reflected against the statue at dusk, making it a beacon all night long.
- The city at night. Beautiful
- Again, beautiful.
- Cristo Redentor
